Collection of 16 thimbles in wooden case most very old.

Description

Compartmented wooden thimble display is filled with an assortment of 16 thimbles. Some appear to be porcelain, some silver, some open tops, some fancy, some have initials, and numbers that I believe are sizes. One gold color thimble is inscribed “England”. I think some may be sterling because of the tarnish – I know they are old -but I can’t confirm that. The porcelain/china thimbles have pictures of flowers; one “Home Sweet Home”.  The box has two tiny drawers that open. Display measures approx. 5 x 7 x 2 inches. Some thimbles were mine many years ago, some my grandmother’s. I have cleaned all the thimbles that were tarnished but still can’t find anything on the insides, principally because all are worn! I can see some inscription inside tall fancy thimble but it too is worn so can’t see letters.
