    Description

This is a great piece of history, a signed cut from Jesse Langdon, the last surviving member of Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Riders.  JSA authenticated.
Jesse Langdon was born in 1881 in what is now North Dakota.  On his way to Washington DC, he called upon Roosevelt at the Navy department, reminding him that his father, a veterinarian, had treated Roosevelt's cattle at his Dakota ranch during his ranching days.
Roosevelt arranged a railroad ticket for Langdon to San Antonio, where Langdon lied about his age (stating he was 19) and enlisted in the Rough Riders at the age of 16.   He was the penultimate surviving member of the regiment and the only one to attend the final two Rough Rider reunions, in 1967 and 1968. He died on June 29th 1975 at the age of 94.
