    Up for auction is this Perkins Plate Note issued from Hallowell, Maine (at the time this Banknote was issued, Hallowell was part of Massachusetts) Obsolete Banknote, .00, 1809 issued by “

    ”.  The Obsolete Banknote Catalog number for this note is: #

    This note’s serial number is:

    has
    black penned signatures of the Cashier:
    Gene Dummer
    and the President:
    John O. Pace
    .
    The penned date of July 4, 1809 appears on this note.  According to Haxby, the Bank existed from 1804 – 1820.
    The President, Directors & Company promise to pay
    D. Cobb
    or bearer on demand.
    This Banknote is printed in 1 Color Black.
    The style of Banknote is a Perkins Plate Note, with the State name
    MASSACHUSETTS
    visible on both right and left edge of the note.
    Maine did not become a state until 1820.
    The reverse of this note is unprinted.
