    , approx. 7" x 3-1/8", a promissory note from Humphrey Jackman (1761-1840, of Bradford, NH) to Ezekiel Webster, written entirely in the hand of Ezekiel Webster, and signed in full in the 3rd person in the body of the text, and signed by Humphrey Jackman at the conclusion.

    ; Graduated from Dartmouth College in 1804, studied law, and rose to eminence in his profession. Served in the NH House of Representatives, 1811-14, 1821-25, 1827-1828, and in the NH State Senate, 1828; Died at age 49 - suffering a heart attack while trying a case in Court in Concord, NH.
    The document reads:
    "August  1, 1817. For value received I promise Ezekiel Webster to pay him or order fourteen dollars and sixteen cents on demand with interest. .16.
