This is a reproduction gas pump globe with advertising, on front and back, for
Buick Sales & Service
featuring the
"Valve In Head"
Motor Cars
. Each glass panel is convex and 13½" in diameter. The ring is plastic and is held together with three screws. the opening at the bottom is 6" in diameter. This particular style for the advertising is no longer being produced. I believe the last ones were in the Seventies. You don't need a gas pump to appreciate these globes. I have one globe that was made into a desk lamp; Two that hang from the ceiling as swag lamps (the glass can be mounted 180° degrees so it's no upside down); and one as a ceiling light. One of the pictures show it with a small wattage light bulb inside, lit up.
