Jason Kelce addresses altercation with Penn State fan: ‘I’m not proud of it’

Jason Kelce began ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” this week by addressing the altercation between him and a Penn State fan that occurred over the weekend.
The former Eagles center was confronted by a fan in State College, Pennsylvania who used a homophobic slur directed at Kelce’s brother, Travis.

“I’m not happy with anything that took place,” Kelce said on ESPN. “I’m not proud of it. In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I don’t think that’s a productive thing. I really don’t. I don’t think it leads to discourse and (I don’t think) it’s the right way to go about things. In that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn’t have.
“The bottom line is, I want to live my life — I try to live my life — by the ‘golden rule.’ That’s what I’ve always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency, respect, and I’m going to keep doing that moving forward even though I fell short this week.”
While Kelce walked through the tailgate before Penn State hosted Ohio State on Saturday, a fan chased him and yelled: “Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a f—- for dating Taylor Swift?”
Kelce then turned around and took the fans phone, threw it to the ground and said, “Who’s the f–— now?”
Kelce, who retired last offseason after 13 years in the league, was at State College to appear on “College GameDay”
